Photography to me is all about capturing the present moment in order to preserve the feelings that you experiened at the time. It is a way for me to share with everyone what I can't put into words. I'm the happiest version of myself when I have my camera in my hand.

Hey you, thanks for taking the time to read this.

 

In a nutshell:

 

  • Name: tay govender
  • Age: hehe :)  like I'm going to tell you (stay safe online - don't share personal information)
  • Passions: photography, like duh. Film and Formula One (Forza Ferrari, Sempre)
  • Dislikes: inefficiency and unorginised people (selective extroverts put your hand up)
  • Qualifications: Zit, zip, zero. Finishing my A levels though

 

Well, as you can tell from that very entertaning introduction, I am a writer. Ha, you thought I was going to say I'm a fun person, but no, I'm just a poet (strikes a dramatic pose).

 

One thing that you do need to know about me is that I am ALWAYS listening to music. Music is an incredibly important aspect of my life. It is the things that calms me down after a stressful day and hypes me before I have to go interact with society. As I write this I am listening to my playlist titled 'high heels and red lipstick' (gotta get in that Boss Babe mindest).

 

Now, I tell you this for one reason only and that is: music revealed my deep love for storytelling. Listening to Taylor Swift sing about heartbreak so poetically as a 12 year old really opened my eyes to the power of words (yes I'm a Swiftie - get over it). Storytelling is something that I stive to achieve as a creative and it has been my golden thread as a photographer. Frames Per Second is my way of sharing my stories with you and, more specifically, this blog.

 

Frames Per Second is by far the most challenging and exciting that I've ever done. It's been just under a year since I first decided to open a business and it has been one hectic and unpredictable road. There were many times where I could've thrown the towel in but I wanted to give FPS the time to grow an flourish that I believe it's destianed for. As the time of writing this I have 5 people on my mailing list and 12 followers on Instagram, so the hard work is in no way over but that's okay, because good things take time. I'm also really busy. Yikes, running a business demands time - who would've thought.
